This event will take place in the McMillan Greenhouse, courtesy of UNCC Botanical Gardens. Directions for the building and nearby parking can be found on UNCC's website here: https://gardens.charlotte.edu/visiting-the-gardens/directions-and-parking/

This will be a hands-on workshop led by Carrie DeJaco presenting on botanical anatomy and functions of various kinds of fruits and the seeds they contain. Some fruits will be provided for your activities and you are welcome to bring a variety of fruits of your own to work with, if you’d like. (Extra credit points for any kinds of fruits you bring that no one else brings!) If you have a magnifying glass or loupe, you will find it helpful (many phones now have a magnifying feature that will do the job). If you do bring fruits, if you can also bring along a knife of appropriate size to slice the fruits in half, that will be useful (we will provide some knives).
