Native Plants and Coffee!

Ed McNally will give a short presentation on the gardens, including a brief history of the vision for and creation of Marshall Native Gardens, and Marshall Native Gardens Initiative, the 501c3 that coordinates and manages the gardens. He’ll describe the master planning and recent features now in the gardens and plans for future garden improvements, and discuss how our new strategic plan has changed our organizational structure and our future emphasis and focus.

Ed will finish by leading a tour of the gardens.

You can find more about the Marshall Native Gardens and get directions at their website: https://marshallnativegardens.org

In 2009 Ed became involved with the Friends of Madison County library which led to starting the Marshall Native Gardens. It is a non-profit all volunteer organization that has coordinated, envisioned, designed, constructed, and now interprets and maintains those diverse native gardens.

Our speaker is Ed McNally. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin at Madison as a Landscape Architect, Ed worked briefly for that University at the Environmental Awareness Center before taking a job with the Army Corps Engineering in St Paul Minnesota. He then spent 34 years working for the Federal Government as a Landscape Architect, Recreation Planner, Environmental Specialist, and retired as Senior Project Manager, managing large flood control studies.
