Tree and shrub Id workshop
Join Carrie Blair for a workshop to learn to identify trees and shrubs. Learn the characteristics to look for such as simple or compound leaf type, branches alternate or opposite, leaf size and shape, and much more. If you have a tree book, bring it with you. Tree Finder by May H. Walls, is a good guide if you are looking for one. Bring a hand lens (or magnifier) and binoculars if you have them. The event will begin at the Ranger Station in Pisgah Forest and is limited to 20 people. Carrie is a Master Gardener and a tree expert. She taught Winter Tree ID with Josh Kelly, Mountain True, Public Lands Biologist at Cradle of Forestry and taught a 15-week Winter Tree ID for Master Gardeners.
