Good news - this workshop has been rescheduled in the Durham venue!

Winter Sowing Workshop; the easiest way to start native plant seeds.

Instructor: Megan Brame

Learn how to utilize the easiest seed-starting method called "Winter Sowing", using Mother Nature to provide the winter stratification period that many native plant seeds need before they will germinate.

With this method, seeds are started in translucent jugs (i.e. 1 gallon milk, juice, or water jugs), that serve as mini-greenhouses, and are placed in the shade outside to let nature work its magic. The jugs protect seedlings from pests, allow for the necessary cold-moist stratification, and result in a high germination rate. We will cover all of the basics, including benefits, materials, timing, common pitfalls, etc. Soil and seeds will be provided - list will be provided closer to the event. Bring your own jugs and $5 fee for supplies.

Registration required, cap of 24, priority given to people previously registered for the original date (Jan 10)

Note: The venue - Night School Bar - is a 21+ venue - no minors and no outside drinks allowed.
